Proposta la creazione di un Database delle vittime del data breach OPM

Il Dipartimento della Difesa americano ha proposto la creazione di un database delle persone le cui informazioni personali sono state rubate in occasione del colossale data breach che ha coinvolto l’Office of Personnel Management (OPM) con l’obiettivo di censire i soggetti che avranno diritto ai servizi di protezione dal furto di identità. Il fatto ha coinvolto oltre 21 milioni di dipendenti federali.

Le vittime dell’episodio riceveranno un lettera di notifica contenente un PIN per accreditarsi presso un sito web governativo da cui ottenere aiuto.

    I wonder what happens if you are eligible for identity-theft protection services. It’s not like one can change his own biometric data if it is stolen.

    Maybe the goverment will put in place a system able to monitor and track the fraudulent activities with the stolen data
